Hume Highway duplication between Sturt Highway and Holbrook

Construction overview

Construction of the Hume Highway duplication will generally involve road formations being established by cut and fill earth work operations on the design alignments. In most instances, the cuts would provide the basic earthworks required for the fills.
Pavement for the highway will be rigid (concrete) while local road connections and property accesses will be flexible (granular) with bitumen sealing.

Following completion of the formation and pavement, roadside furniture such as guideposts, guide fencing, traffic signs and pavement markers will be installed.

Preliminary construction activities will commence in four areas, Sturt Highway to Tarcutta, Kyeamba, Little Billabong and Yarra Yarra to Holbrook. For more detail on these areas please click in the appropriate link below.
