Reopening of Little Billabong tennis
courts a big hit with local community

The tennis courts at Little Billabong, north of Holbrook, will once again be the focus of the community after their ‘official’ reopening on Sunday 19 May by Greater Hume Shire Mayor, Denise Osborne.
Workers on the Northern Hume Alliance (NHA) at Zone 3 (Little Billabong section) refurbished the two tennis courts which had fallen into disrepair and disuse. The NHA refilled and resurfaced the courts, replaced the fencing and repaired the lighting. The Little Billabong farming community joined NHA workers and their families for a social tennis day and BBQ to celebrate the reopening. The day also marked the grand opening of the new Little Billabong Rural Fire Service shed which adjoins the tennis courts.
President of the newly reformed Little Billabong Tennis Club, Emma Boulding said thanks to the NHA’s efforts and support she looked forward to tennis once again becoming an integral part of community life.
